Edgar Calabia Samar is a multi-awarded poet, children's story writer, essayist and novelist, and author of recently-published Walong Diwata ng Pagkahulog [trans. Eight Muses of the Fall ] (Anvil Publishing, 2009), winner of 2005 NCCA Writer's Prize. He is also instructor of literature and creative writing at the Ateneo de Manila University in the Philippines. He is now working on his dissertation for Ph.D in Creative Writing at the University of the Philippines.
